Context: Astana — the New Capital
Shaped by Soviet planning principles and Kisho Kurokawa’s masterplan, Astana was conceived around grand avenues, landmark architecture and car movement.
Today, the city is evolving towards a greener, more walkable and liveable capital. Our concept landscape masterplan supports this shift by creating people-first streets and all-season public spaces, using integrated blue, green and white infrastructure to respond to Astana’s extreme climate and growing urban life.
